In this verse, an angel is speaking to Mary as she cannot fathom that she—a virgin—is pregnant and carrying the Savior of the world. Sure enough, Mary gives birth to Jesus. Her fiance, Joseph, is unsure of how to respond before being assured by the Lord in a dream that it is in fact an immaculate conception.
It may not have been ideal for the couple to face shame and stigma during Mary’s pregnancy then have to give birth in a manger, but God had every detail worked out. Mary and Joseph’s initial panic dissipated as God moved mountains right in front of them and brought forth our Savior.
Try making a list of things that you thought were impossible that God made possible—mountains in front of you that He moved. Let this list be a reminder that He is in the details, He is for you and His word will never fail.
