Scripture
20My intercessor is my friend as my eyes pour out tears to God; 21on behalf of a man he pleads with God as one pleads for a friend.” Job 16:20-21 (NIV)

Job’s words are heavy with grief, yet they hold a truth we all need to hear—we are not alone in our suffering. In the middle of his pain, when his friends misunderstood him and his world felt like it was crumbling, Job clung to the fact that he had an advocate. Someone who saw his tears. Someone who pleaded for him.

Sister, have you ever felt like no one truly understands what you’re going through? Like your pain is too deep, your prayers unheard? Maybe it feels like no one understands what it’s like to listen to your baby cry all night with no way to help. Or maybe you’re struggling to decide where to cut your family’s personal budget so you can start saving more efficiently, but no one understands your financial priorities. Maybe you’ve poured out your heart to your close friends and family only to be met with silence or well-meaning but empty words. But here’s the truth: Jesus Himself intercedes for you. He stands before the Father on your behalf, carrying your burdens, your heartbreak and your unspoken prayers.

Job reminds us that even when we feel abandoned, we are never without an advocate. God’s heart is moved by our tears. He doesn’t dismiss our pain—He leans in. He holds us in our brokenness and speaks on our behalf when we don’t have the words.

So today, let yourself rest in that truth. You don’t have to carry your burdens alone. Lay them before the One who pleads for you, the One who knows your struggles intimately and loves you deeply. Because in your hardest moments, you are seen, you are heard and you are never alone.
