Scripture
“Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 (NIV)

It feels daunting to keep an attitude of thankfulness churning during hard times. Life is filled with challenges. When we look into the Bible, scripture tells us to consider trials a pure joy. That sounds like a whole lot of no thanks. Plowing through a pint of ice cream sounds like a better plan. Woe is me, how could this happen to me, why me… sound familiar?

Jump into the word of God for perspective on finding joy in all things. Our Father above is there for you to cling to for support and strength. His love for us is everlasting. Your current trial is not. Look no further than Jesus for hope. Because of His sacrifice on the cross, how could we not be thankful for everything?

Rather than letting negative thoughts become a wrecking ball in your life, find the courage and strength to pull those joy and thankfulness cards out of your spiritual toolbox. Move forward knowing there is more than this current state of pain. A new day will come, and joy will abound.
