Sometimes life doesn’t look like it’s going according to plan—at least, not your plan. Maybe the job fell through, the diagnosis came, the relationship changed or the dream died quietly after years of trying. In those moments, this verse from Jeremiah can feel both comforting and hard to believe.

But it wasn’t spoken in a time of comfort. God gave this promise to His people while they were in exile—displaced, discouraged and wondering if He had forgotten them. And yet, right there in the waiting, He speaks: I know the plans I have for you.

God doesn’t promise immediate escape or easy answers. He promises something better—His presence, His purpose and His future. His plans aren’t vague or reactionary. They are intentional and filled with hope, even when we can’t see the full picture.

This isn’t a call to ignore your pain or pretend everything’s fine. It’s an invitation to trust that even in sorrow, even in the silence, God is still writing your story—and it’s a good one.

Hope isn’t wishful thinking. It’s confidence in the character of a God who sees beyond today and never wastes a single moment of your journey.

So if you’re weary today, hold on. He has plans—for your good, for your peace, for your future. And He hasn’t forgotten a single detail.
