There’s a big difference between hearing about something and experiencing it for yourself. You can listen to a friend rave about her favorite restaurant, but until you actually take a bite, you’ll never know what makes it so good.
Faith is like that too. Psalm 34:8 doesn’t just tell us that God is good—it invites us to taste and see. That means stepping into trust, leaning on Him in real, tangible ways. Refuge isn’t theory; it’s experienced when you run to Him with your fears, your needs, your exhaustion, and find that He is faithful every single time.
So often, we hesitate to take that step. We want certainty before we trust, proof before we let go. But David’s words remind us that the certainty comes after the trust—the “taste” comes before the seeing. We discover His goodness when we’re willing to bring Him our whole selves, even the messy parts.
What would it look like for you to take a taste today? Maybe it’s praying about something you usually try to fix yourself. Maybe it’s choosing to thank Him in the middle of stress. Try it. Taste and see. His goodness is waiting.
