Every person falls short and makes wrong choices—we are human, after all. Sin is in our very nature. Whether it’s taking something that does not belong to us or lashing out when we are angry, sometimes we act poorly without immediately recognizing it.
Though it is essential to avoid choices that lead us to fall short, walking with God helps us understand His grace. Learning from our mistakes is a process, and––thankfully––God does not expect us to be perfect people. In fact, by granting us free will, He made us inherently imperfect yet loves and calls us by name to come to Him.
Take some time to think about mistakes, both big and small, that you’ve made recently. Think about how you could’ve avoided them and try to make different choices next time. Committing to change is crucial. It guides us away from past imperfections and towards defining ourselves as new creations in Christ.
