Do you have a promise you’re waiting for God to fulfill in your life?
Maybe you’re struggling with infertility. Maybe you are praying for a family member or friend to accept Christ. Maybe you are waiting for God to bring a breakthrough in your finances. Whatever you are waiting on, God wants you to know that He will always come through on the promises of His Word.
It can be easy to get discouraged when God’s timing doesn’t match yours, though. Elizabeth knew this disappointment all too well. She and her husband, Zachariah, were faithful servants to the Lord, living blamelessly according to His commandments. Despite their prayers, though, Elizabeth couldn’t get pregnant. But like He always does, God came through on His promises.
On the same night the angel Gabriel came to tell Mary she was pregnant with Jesus, he also told her Elizabeth, her relative and close confidant, was also expecting. The two women rejoiced in their pregnancies and the faithfulness of their God.
So, follow the example of Mary and Elizabeth, sister. Believe in His plan and that God will fulfill His promises.
