Scripture
“Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.” Mark 11:24 (NIV)

The Bible is filled with verses calling us to prayer. We’re encouraged to ask God about anything and everything in our hearts. Let’s be honest: God already knows what’s on your mind. He’s just waiting for you to confide in Him. To speak with Him like you would your best friend and tell Him everything. Remember, just because God has told us to petition Him, that doesn’t mean everything you want is immediately on your front doorstep.

God can’t be forced to answer prayers on demand nor deliver the outcome you anticipate. He cannot provide anything that contradicts His will for your life or others. When Jesus taught His 12 disciples to pray the Lord’s Prayer, He was direct with them about what answer to expect. It’s God’s kingdom that shall come, and it’s His will that will be done.

If you do not ask, you cannot receive. Most importantly—and hardest of all—as you wait on God to answer, ask for patience. Have faith that no matter the outcome, He answers. Maybe not in your desired way but always in the way He sees best.
