Scripture
“People will dwell again in his shade; they will flourish like the grain, they will blossom like the vine—Israel’s fame will be like the wine of Lebanon.” Hosea 14:7 (NIV)

When it comes to raising girls, moms can feel like they’re a step behind. Just when you think you have your daughter figured out, you don’t. On Monday, they adore glitter and pink. By Friday, they’re begging to be dropped off two blocks from the movie theater. They can be an enigma we love and adore.

As girls mature into young women, teach them to be courageous and to choose kindness. Model for them what it’s like to stand bravely in the face of adversity as a woman of God. Queen Esther, the Virgin Mary, Lydia and Ruth: prime biblical examples of kind and courageous women who God worked through for His good and His purposes.

Pray with your daughters. Immerse them in scripture. Provide them with the tools needed to face adversity. Our daughters need both the mental and moral cornerstone of God to ground them in an ever-shifting world. Give them a foundation in faith that will serve them well for a lifetime.
