You know that moment when a friend texts, “Pray for me,” and we reply, “Absolutely,”—but then forget? We’ve all been there. Our hearts were in the right place, but the follow-through fell flat. That’s the thing about faith—it isn’t just something we feel or say. It’s something we do.

James doesn’t sugarcoat it. He says faith without action is dead. Not weak. Not struggling. Dead. That’s hard to hear, but it’s also deeply clarifying. It means our faith is meant to spill out into the real world—in line at the grocery store, in how we talk to our coworkers, in whether we show up for that mom friend who’s barely keeping it together.

Living out our faith doesn’t have to be grand or public. Sometimes it’s as simple as listening when you’d rather scroll, showing up with a meal instead of just sending a heart emoji or finally calling that family member you’ve been avoiding. It’s not about impressing anyone. It’s about becoming more like Christ.

Today, ask God to show you where your faith can be put into action. Then take the step, however small it may seem. Faith moves.
