Scripture
“Surely God is my salvation; I will trust and not be afraid. The Lord, the Lord himself, is my strength and my defense; he has become my salvation.” Isaiah 12:2 (NIV)

When you consider God—who He is and where He is—do you ever feel like you’re unable to define Him? That someone may have a long and philosophical explanation of how to find Him that makes yours feel lackluster? How do we even begin to seek God when we are not really sure where to find Him?

When we talk about seeking God, it’s not that He’s lost. We’re not stuck in some epic game of hide-and-seek where we’re always it and can’t get a trace on His whereabouts. God is constant, and He never changes His location. The ones difficult to find would be us. We’re constantly shifting our focus when our eyes should be fixated on our Father above.

When seeking more of God, think of it like this: Seeking Him means finding more of His attributes. In the scripture above, we’re told to seek humility and righteousness. Implementing these character traits of God, along with others, happens the more we align ourselves with His inherent qualities. The benefits we will see are gifts, not givens.

Draw closer to God. He is worth seeking.
