Prayer makes a difference.
In this chapter of the book of Acts, Peter is imprisoned for his faith and he’s just lost his preaching companion, James. Talk about what must have felt like a hopeless situation. But even in the darkest of days, there was hope to be found. The church stepped up in a mighty way and interceded for Peter.
Communicating with God, whether it’s for ourselves or others, shouldn’t be something we take for granted. Petitioning and praising God in all things shows Him your trust. Reliance on God for direction and answers means you count on Him and depend on Him. He works through all things for the good of those who love Him. Remember, His will be done and not ours. Yet if you do not ask for what’s on your heart, how can you receive it?
When our day falls flat or when the stress in our lives reaches maximum capacity, prayer is there. This is the time to call on God for intercession that only He can provide. Prayer can change outcomes, events and lives. Open your heart to the Lord on behalf of others. What a difference you could ask God to make in the life of someone who needs it. Others praying for Peter definitely changed his life.
