God has many characteristics throughout the scriptures, but one of His most important titles is “Rescuer.” When we accept Christ as our Lord and Savior, He throws us a lifeline to save us from the pain and difficulties we may be facing.
To take a line from the popular song “Rescue” by Lauren Daigle, sang as if God is speaking to the listener, we’re reminded God will do anything to save us in our darkest moments:
I hear the whisper underneath your breath
I hear you whisper, you have nothing left
I will send out an army to find you
In the middle of the darkest night
It’s true, I will rescue you
I will never stop marching to reach you
In the middle of the hardest fight
It’s true, I will rescue you
God leaves the 99 to save just one of His children. He comes running to rescue you because He loves you. Because He delights in you, like a parent delights in their child.
It doesn’t matter where you’ve been or what you’ve done. You can experience God’s delight today. Will you step into it?
