Scripture
“In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.” Genesis 1:1 (NIV)

God had a busy six days. At the start of it all, He created the heavens and the earth. Day and night followed along with land to separate the seas and skies. Trees and plants, livestock and wild animals began dotting God’s landscape. And although we’re told God saw that creation was good, He wasn’t quite finished with his masterpiece.

God made humans—man and woman—in His image. Today, billions of people walk the earth in homage to the brushstroke of life awakening. God’s glory and greatness can be seen in the shining of stars in the night sky. The bright sun reflecting on the waters. The blades of grass blowing in the wind.

We weren’t created by chance or by accident. Everything we see, feel and experience resonates with God’s power and love. Rather than setting your mind on what’s wrong in the world, focus on what God did right as He put creation into motion. Thank Him for the opportunity to see a sunrise. Praise Him when the evening is filled with a moonlit glow. Most of all, praise Him, for we are fearfully and wonderfully made.
