Gideon’s battle plan didn’t make sense: three hundred men, no swords, just trumpets, jars and torches. This would have been a disaster if he had relied on conventional wisdom. But God had a different strategy—one that didn’t rely on human strength but on His power alone. And the result? A victory only God could orchestrate.
Sister, how often do we approach our battles with our own strategies, convinced that if we just try harder, plan better or push through, we’ll win? Maybe you’re juggling work, family and responsibilities, convinced that if you just organize better or sleep less, you’ll finally feel caught up—but instead, you’re running on empty. Or maybe you’re facing a strained relationship, replaying conversations in your mind, overanalyzing every word and trying to “fix” things yourself instead of surrendering it to God. Sometimes, the harder we push, the more exhausted and defeated we feel.
But what if, like Gideon, God is calling you to fight differently? What if He’s asking you to trust Him even when the plan seems unconventional—or completely impossible?
Victory doesn’t always come the way we expect. Sometimes, it’s found in surrender. In letting go of our plans and embracing His.
Today, take a deep breath. Ask God where He’s leading you. Trust that even when the odds feel stacked against you, He is still in control. And just like Gideon, you may find that the greatest victories come in the most unexpected ways.
