Scripture
“Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.” Romans 12:12 (NIV)

In the book of Romans, we read Paul’s letter to believers about how they should carry on after Jesus’s death and resurrection. Think of these words as a study guide on applying Godly principles to our daily lives. As Paul sums up what living a life of love looks like, he hits it home with three quick and easy ways we can show God that we truly love Him every day:

  • Be joyful in hope.
  • Be patient in affliction.
  • Be faithful in prayer.

When we find joy in hope, we put our faith and trust entirely in God and His plan. Our place for all eternity is sealed and signed when we follow Him: It’s a promise that cannot be broken.

To find patience in affliction—that’s a tough one, isn’t it? Following Jesus isn’t a hall pass from pain and suffering. It means that when problems come into our lives, we rely on Him to dry every tear, remove every difficulty and lead us to our victory in Jesus.

Faithfully praying means understanding our quick text/tweet/DM to God is one of the many ways to intercede on behalf of ourselves and others. Lifting our voices and presenting requests to God should be constant, not random.

Infuse more of these secrets of true, Godly love into your life. Press on, sister, and see how your joy and patience can grow by leaps and bounds when you are faithful to God.
