Scripture
“To the weak I became weak, to win the weak. I have become all things to all people so that by all possible means I might save some. 23 I do all this for the sake of the gospel, that I may share in its blessings.” 1 Corinthians 9:22-23 (NIV)

If you’re a teacher and meet another teacher, chances are good you’ll have a lot in common. How hugs and warm smiles from students light up your day. How ungraded papers seem to multiply at night. How being an instructor is not for accolades or glory but to change the lives of students. You have a lot of common ground.

In the verses above, Paul is writing to the church in Corinth about how believers can find connection points with people and share their faith. In the most genuine of ways, when we take on our daily roles and routines, people around us notice. Whether you’re part of playgroups in the park or an attorney spending long days in courtrooms, you’re already “in” with people who do what you do. Those who are observant might sense there’s just something different about how you react to issues, find joy in small things and choose not to sweat the small stuff. These moments we spend with others provide endless opportunities to share God. Someone in your world, right now, may need to know that their Heavenly Father loves them and would love to hear how you found your faith in Him.
