Scripture
“Open my eyes that I may see wonderful things in your law.” Psalm 119:18 (NIV)

What do you see outside your window? Depending on the season and weather, it most likely morphs into different views. Perhaps some days you can see for miles and take in blossoms and bees at their peak. On overcast days, you may not have the view you love. Your vision can also be obscured when the glass needs a good washing or something else blocks your line of sight.

This same idea can be applied when we struggle to see life as God intended. Our insecurities, sin and selfishness create a film over our spiritual eyes, keeping us from seeing truth. Our focus becomes inward rather than upward. When that happens, we cannot process the beauty of God and His glory. It inhibits us in ways we may not realize until the grime and smudges are removed.

Thank God for giving us clear skies and a clear view of the world. His lens is always perfect and needs no corrective focal point. It can be a challenge to maintain and keep His interests for us first in our line of sight. Yet the glory of the Lord is always our strength, just as God designed.
