Scripture
“God said to Moses, “I AM WHO I AM. This is what you are to say to the Isrealites: ‘I AM has sent me to you.’”” Exodus 3:14 (NIV)

Let’s set the stage for this verse. Through a burning bush, the Spirit of the Lord tells Moses that His plan to rescue His people not only involves Moses, but that he will lead them to freedom. Moses goes on to make excuses for why he is not cut out for such an important calling. This is when God tells Moses to tell the Isrealites, “I AM has sent me to you.”

Have you ever been called to do something that you felt you were not cut out for? Have you ever felt inadequate in a situation or conversation? God calls us to do hard things. But I AM, our God who has always been what He will always be, has our backs. He promises to be with us always, to prepare and equip us for His good works and purposes.

Despite all the things that we may see as setbacks, we can rest in knowing that God’s plan will succeed.

The next time you have feelings of inadequacy pray to your Father:

Dear heavenly Father,
You have always been and will always be. This feels so hard right now but I look to you for guidance and wisdom. God please equip me for what you have called me to do. Let me be a reflection of your goodness during this difficult time. In your name I pray, AMEN.
