Scripture
5Yes, my soul, find rest in God; my hope comes from him. 6Truly he is my rock and my salvation; he is my fortress, I will not be shaken.” Psalm 62:5-6 (NIV)

We’ve all experienced times when we had no clue what God was up to. Sometimes, we can ride that wave of curiosity, knowing that God is at work doing His thing. But what about the other times when worry overtakes our ability to rest? Why are those situations harder to give over to Him?

David understood those moments all too well. Rather than shaking his fist and demanding that God act, he cried out to the Holy One from the depths of his soul, begging for peace. He learned to lean into the rock of his salvation rather than stand alone on shaky ground. This shepherd boy who became a king knew that silencing worry and doubt meant he had to get quiet.

Unfortunately, we live in a world that honors hustle. We’re enticed to move at the speed of light or be left behind. That pace doesn’t leave time for us to stop and listen.

Sister, God already has plans in place, and they’re bigger than you can imagine. Yes, we need to get busy doing what God has charged us with, but remember to pause and heed His direction, too. Your quiet confidence in God is not weakness: it’s all-powerful. Don’t allow the darkness of worry and restlessness to crowd your mind. You won’t lose footing when you put your hope in God—the rock-solid source for everything.
