Scripture
3When I consider your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have set in place, 4what is mankind that you are mindful of them, human beings that you care for them?” Psalm 8:3-4 (NIV)

David spent a lot of time under starry skies. Being a shepherd was 24/7 work, and that included the night shift. What gorgeous, moonlit evenings he must have witnessed as his flocks grazed. After taking in the vastness of our universe and God’s handiwork, David shifted his focus to where we all fit into God’s plan. How could the Creator possibly have time for us in the grand scheme of His glorious creation?

God purposely dappled our world with proof of His awe and wonder. That includes creating us. Sometimes you may wonder how humans even compare to planets and galaxies. Our limited minds struggle to understand how God could fit us into His already busy schedule. That’s when you can hold fast to the truth that He is God: infinite, everywhere and in everything. He loves us and formed us in His image to build covenant-filled relationships. It seems like building a rapport with the Milky Way would be a one-sided conversation for God, right? That’s why we’re here: God’s most precious and chosen creations that He wants to have a relationship with.

Whether you take in God’s love this week through a sunrise, a long walk or the quiet of the sun setting, remember that God wanted you. The work of His fingers was no accident. He knows you and wants you to know Him.
