Scripture
“Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.” Hebrews 11:1 (NIV)

Faith is believing in something that feels real. It’s grasping onto the intangible with all your might. It’s clinging to something unseen, yet we feel it taking up space in every square inch of our hearts.

Noah is an excellent example of faith. “Build an ark,” God said, and without having any context for the task, Noah got to work. He’d never built a massive boat. Yet he was tasked with saving himself, his family and a menagerie while knowing his neighbors’ fate. Still, Noah believed, obeyed and was saved.

Ruth is another that we look to in the Bible as a shining example of steadfast faith. She refused to leave her mother-in-law, Naomi, when her husband died. Her trust in God and loyalty to her family made Ruth part of Jesus’ lineage. Now that’s a stellar genetic family tree to belong to!

When we believe in God, trusting Him is a natural next step. Living our lives according to His will means giving up our way for God’s. If allowing Him to lead feels like you’re not in control, that’s a good thing! If trusting God is a struggle, ask Him to change your heart. Make space for your faith to evolve into something more profound. The only way we can truly experience everything He has in store is to let Him show us how it’s done.
