We’ve all strayed. It may look different in each of our lives, yet we’ve made choices that went against the grain of what’s right at one time or another. No one is perfect. Even when we’ve committed our lives to God, temptations abound:
I wanted that promotion, regardless of the cost to my coworker who is being considered too.
It’s not my fault the person who packed my grocery order gave me items I didn’t ask for.
I know I’m in a committed relationship, but this new person makes me feel so amazing.
Sometimes we want to go our own way, but God has chosen us to be a part of His flock. Temptations may abound, and it can be challenging to do the right thing. But He still hopes we’ll listen to Him and obey His commands. He’s always in our corner, cheering us on to do the right thing.
Our Savior paid the price for all the times we stumble and make wrong decisions. His mercy makes it all possible. When rebellion swells and our selfishness shows, remember the Good Shepherd. He calls to us, seeks us and restores us. We’re never too lost or too far gone to return to His flock.
