Life doesn’t always follow the plan.
Maybe you thought you’d be further along in your career by now. Maybe the relationship you counted on ended. Maybe the diagnosis came out of nowhere. Or maybe it’s the smaller, daily uncertainties—the financial unknowns, the parenting questions, the “what ifs” that wake you up at 2 a.m.
Uncertainty is unsettling. It tempts us to grip tighter, to overthink, to try to control what we can. But Proverbs 3:5–6 offers us a different way. Not a roadmap for quick answers—but an invitation to trust.
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart.” Not some. Not just on Sundays. All. Even the part of your heart that’s scared. Even the part that’s tired of waiting.
“Lean not on your own understanding.” Because our perspective is limited. We see part of the picture, but God sees it all. His ways are higher. His timing is perfect. His plan—even when we don’t understand it—is always good.
When we release our grip and surrender our steps, God promises to direct our path. It doesn’t mean the path will be easy—but it will be purposeful. Straight doesn’t mean smooth—it means He’ll guide us exactly where we need to go.
So today, whatever uncertainty you’re facing, take a deep breath and hand it over. Whisper a simple prayer: “Lord, I don’t know what’s next—but I trust You do.”
He’s already in tomorrow. He’s already making a way.
