Flaxseeds
These little seeds can be used in your facial scrub to help provide a bit more moisture. The oil extract from the seeds can also be used as a moisturizer. For dry skin, apply it like a mask and let sit for 10 to 15 minutes, then run through your regular face wash routine.
Aloe Vera
You may already be using this plant without even realizing it! Aloe vera is used in many beauty products because of its anti-inflammatory properties and its salicylic acid that clears the skin. You can use this soothing gel directly by breaking a leaf and squeezing it out. Applying it directly can help soothe, moisturize and relax your skin.
Chamomile
There are a couple of ways that we can use this anti-inflammatory herb. To start we can brew tea. Then we can make cool compresses to put on puffy irritated eyes. The cooled tea can also help heal rashes when applied topically.
Coconut Oil
This is one of the most popular natural beauty products right now and for good reason! Coconut oil is generally healthy for our bodies. The oil contains properties that make it antifungal, antibacterial, soothing and protective. You can apply it like a daily moisturizer to reap the benefits.
Avocado
Outside of the incredible recipes using this fruit, it can be applied directly to provide nutrients to our hair and scalp! You can mash avocado together with coconut oil and even some aloe vera together to make a hair mask. Apply the mask and let it sit for 20 to 30 minutes, then shower as usual.
