Christmas is a time when people curious about God may be more open to hearing about your faith. This holiday, Jesus takes center stage. Not only because it’s His birthday, but also because He’s everywhere: nativity scenes, Christmas cards, and the heart and soul of the seasonal songs we hear. As Christians, we are called to share how God has made a difference in our lives. If you feel a little timid or are unsure where to start, here are a few ways to help you share Christ at Christmas.
Ask God to Guide You
Lean on Him to help you discern who may be receptive and who isn’t quite ready. If your faith or God comes up in natural conversation, pause for a moment before sharing your story. You’ll know by their reaction if they’d like to hear more.
Conversation Starters
When you’re not sure where to start, try asking these questions:
- If you could ask God for anything this Christmas, what would it be?
- What is your favorite Christmas tradition? Why is it your favorite?
- Are you looking for a church to attend on Christmas Eve?
- How can I pray for you this holiday season?
Share the Love
Be a vessel of God’s love and light. Invite your neighbors over for dinner. Spearhead a toy drive at your office. Maybe it’s time to apologize to or forgive a friend you haven’t spoken with in a long time. Our actions can be the glimmer of hope someone needs this holiday season.
