Every now and then, it’s good to pause and say, Remember when God showed up for me? Not in some dramatic, part-the-sea moment—but in the quiet, steady ways He always does.
That’s what’s happening in Hosea here. God is saying to His people, Don’t forget where we’ve been. Don’t forget how I led you out, how I cared for you in the in-between places, how I’ve been speaking all along.
And maybe you’ve had your own “Egypt” season—a time you felt stuck, worn out or overwhelmed. Maybe it was a season of anxiety that lingered longer than you expected, or that year where nothing seemed to go as planned. And yet—here you are.
Think back. Who were the people who helped you keep going? What moments brought light when you didn’t think you’d see it again? God speaks in all kinds of ways—through a friend’s text at just the right time, a line in a sermon that hit way too close, a random walk where the sky opened up and something in your heart finally exhaled.
He’s still speaking. Still guiding. Still reminding you that He’s been here all along.
So today, take a moment. What’s your version of the tent? What’s your festival memory, your modern-day parable or your quiet miracle?
Write it down. Say it out loud. Share it with someone.
Because remembering where God has been helps us trust where He’s taking us next.
