Scripture
“Show me your ways, Lord, teach me your paths. 6Guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are God my Savior, and my hope is in you all day long.” Psalm 25:4-5 (NIV)

As Lent comes to a close, it’s time to reflect on the things we have learned from this period of sacrifice, prayer and self-improvement. How has this time strengthened your relationship with God? In what ways have the things or time you have given up drawn you closer to Jesus’s experience during the last forty days of his life?

Though Jesus’s journey through the desert was grueling and riddled with temptations, He made this trip for one special reason: us. Jesus died so that we can live on in His name, carry out God’s mission on earth and have eternal life. Above all, Jesus’s sacrifice was an act of love like no other we could ever replicate or imitate.

During the final days of Lent, focus on how you can emulate Jesus’s love throughout your day. Perhaps pay for a stranger’s coffee, hold the door open a little longer for someone walking behind you or call your parents to remind them how grateful you are for them. However you choose to spread the love of Our Savior, remember that it is because of Him we know the omniscient, healing power of love that we cannot help but pass on to others.
