Our words are incredibly powerful. They can draw someone closer to God, or they can drive them away. To behold that kind of power is a great responsibility. God created the world by simply speaking. Jesus spoke and healed people, brought them back from the dead and fed thousands. Words can heal, but words can just as easily destroy.
So, use your words wisely. A question to always ask yourself before you speak is: Are my words edifying to the Lord? If not, hold your tongue. Keep it to yourself or find a way to reword it so that it does honor the Lord. Speak out of love. Today, choose to lift people up with your words, draw them closer to the Lord and love them as Jesus would.
