Scripture
“Until now you have not asked for anything in my name. Ask and you will receive, and your joy will be complete.” John 16:24 (NIV)

We’ve often heard that no prayer is left unanswered by God. It’s either yes, no or not right now. God’s answers to our prayers might not be what or when we want them, but His plan is always greater! In John 16:24, Jesus tells the disciples, and in turn tells us, “Ask and you will receive, and your joy will be complete.” As ambassadors of God, He has promised to give us all we need in order to accomplish His purpose and will for our lives. As Christians, God asks us to do hard things but He never expects us to do them alone or without His help. All we need to do is ask. To take a moment in the chaos, the clutter and the brokenness to seek Him.

He also promises that our joy will be complete. Tauren Wells’ song, Joy in the Morning, is a great reminder of this promise, “If it’s not good, then He’s not done.” God makes all things good. It’s been a promise from the beginning. He never leaves our side and it brings Him great joy when we go to Him, our Father, and ask for help. It shows Him our devotion and dependence on Him. It shows Him our trust in His goodness. In no way is He a genie, granting our earthly wishes, but as we know, His plan is best. He will always provide what is best for you.
