Scripture
“We do not want you to be uninformed, brothers and sisters, about the troubles we experienced in the province of Asia. We were under great pressure, far beyond our ability to endure, so that we despaired of life itself. (9) Indeed, we felt we had received the sentence of death. But this happened that we might not rely on ourselves but on God, who raises the dead. (10) He has delivered us from such a deadly peril, and He will deliver us again. On Him we have set our hope that He will continue to deliver us.” 2 Corinthians 1:8-10 (NIV)

What worldly pressure is weighing you down today? What struggle feels too big to face? What lie is eating away at your heart, making you feel as though the sentence of death hangs over you?

We can learn a lot from this letter written by Paul and Timothy. They tell of the toils faced when preaching the Gospel in Asia. How when they experienced unrelenting strife, God continued to deliver them, providing comfort and salvation.

They were chosen by God to do important work, but He never promised it would be easy. God has chosen you for important work, but you will still have overwhelming moments. Guess what? You can still do it! You were handpicked by the Creator of the Universe for this. There is no guarantee it will be free of challenges, but God promises to walk alongside you, providing comfort and healing.

Stick this scripture on your bathroom mirror or the dashboard of your car. Remind yourself every morning that the God who raises the dead will deliver you from this day. You don’t need to be self-sufficient; you are already God-sufficient.
