Scripture
“For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them.” Matthew 18:20 (NIV)

So many times, we’re told our relationship with God is a personal effort. Alone, we have to strive for success, overcome obstacles and make an impact in this world. But that isn’t how God envisioned His Church. He created us to have community.

In places where we gather, God is present. In the places where we join to worship His name and glorify His goodness, His Spirit is there. It’s also where we find strength within ourselves, find support for the tough moments and find ways to make a difference for Christ’s kingdom.

Our lives weren’t meant to be lived alone. Our grieving, doubting and brokenness weren’t meant to be tackled in isolation. God created a community to rally around us and provide healing and hope for the day we return home. He created a way to mimic heaven right here on earth.

So, don’t live life alone. Practice sacrificial love just as Jesus did. Put yourself in the places where love is needed just as Jesus did. Cry out for others and yourself just as Jesus did. There you will find the presence of God and the love of a community welcoming you in.
