Scripture
“‘Unless you people see signs and wonders,’ Jesus told him, ‘you will never believe.’” John 4:48 (NIV)

Be honest—have you ever found yourself thinking, God, if You would just show me a sign, then I’d really believe … ? Maybe you’ve prayed for something specific—healing, a breakthrough, a clear direction—and when it didn’t happen the way you hoped, doubt started creeping in. You’re not alone. In John 4:48, Jesus calls out this very mindset, challenging the Galileans (and us) to have a faith that isn’t dependent on signs and wonders.

It’s easy to trust God when we see big, obvious answers to prayer. But what about when life feels ordinary? When the healing doesn’t come right away, when the pregnancy test is negative again, when the prodigal child still hasn’t come home, when the apology you’re hoping for never comes … when the situation stays messy. That’s where real faith is tested—not in the mountaintop moments but in the quiet, in the waiting, in the trusting when it doesn’t make sense.

Think about it like a friendship. If someone only showed up for you when things were exciting and dramatic but disappeared when life was calm, would that relationship feel real? Of course not. Faith works the same way. God isn’t just the God of miracles—He’s the God of Mondays, the God of routines, the God of slow, steady growth.

Is your faith resting on what you can see, or is it rooted in who God is? Let’s choose to trust Him, not just when He moves in obvious ways, but in the unseen, the quiet and the ordinary. Because, sister, even when you don’t see the miracle—He’s still there.
