Scripture
“In humility, value others above yourselves.” Philippians 2:3 (NIV)

Oh, the stress of the Christmas season. From Black Friday morning all the way to Christmas Eve night, the scramble to find gifts can be time-consuming, expensive and utterly frustrating. How can you find the perfect gift for your loved ones under the Christmas time crunch?

In reality, the truly perfect gift is not material at all. There is no need to search store shelves for the most expensive toy or a coveted electronic item in order to express generosity and love to family and friends. Christmas is the season of selflessness, and though gift-giving may present itself as a way to show our appreciation for others, it is not the only way we can show loved ones that we value them.

This Christmas, remember the selflessness that Jesus showed us through His sacrifice and practice humility in everything you do. As you check out at the store, donate your spare change to a charity. Instead of mailing your parents a pricey gift, pay them a visit. As you focus on valuing others above yourself, find the value that others bring to you and look for the gifts you receive throughout your day. Whether it be baking cookies with the kids or watching Christmas movies with friends, you will find that your loved ones are the greatest gift of all.
