Nights can feel long when your heart is heavy. Maybe it’s grief, maybe it’s worry or maybe it’s that ache you can’t quite put into words. Darkness has a way of making struggles feel bigger than they are.

Psalm 30:5 reminds us that the night doesn’t last forever. Sorrow may visit, but it doesn’t move in for good. God promises that joy will come. It doesn’t erase the pain, but it reframes it—we are not stuck. We are held by a God who brings light after darkness, hope after despair and laughter after tears.

This verse isn’t telling us to plaster on a smile when we’re hurting. It’s inviting us to cling to the truth that morning will come. That no matter how long the night feels, God’s favor and love are constant, steady and sure.

So if you’re in a “night” season, hold tight. Take your tears to God and trust that He’s already preparing your morning. And if you’re in a season of joy, don’t forget where it came from—His faithful love that lasts a lifetime.
