You’ve probably noticed that there’s no shortage of advice out there, between all the podcasts, TED Talks, Instagram reels and that one friend who read a self-help book once and now swears she’s a life coach. The world is loud with “wisdom,” and honestly, it’s easy to get caught up in chasing all the shiny stuff.
But in Job 28:28, God keeps it simple: “The fear of the Lord—that is wisdom.” Not fear like being scared, but awe and reverence—that quiet, deep-down knowing that He’s God and we’re not. And somehow, that’s where peace lives.
Have you ever had a season of decision fatigue—burnt out, overwhelmed, chasing every bit of “good advice” you could find, but none of it stuck? But then you slowed down, sat with God and asked, What do You say about this? Bet you started to feel something shift. It might not have been flashy, but that whisper of wisdom is always steady and true.
That’s what tuning in looks like. It’s not scrambling to figure everything out—it’s slowing down enough to hear God’s voice over the noise.
So today, when you’re facing choices—big or small—pause and ask yourself: Does this reflect the fear of the Lord? Is this drawing me closer to Him or just adding more noise? Wisdom doesn’t always shout. Sometimes, it just whispers. And you’ll hear it—when you’re listening in the right direction.
