Scripture
“The lamp of a wicked man is snuffed out; the flame of his fire stops burning.” Job 18:5 (NIV)

Bildad may not have been the most compassionate friend to Job, but his words hold a truth we can’t ignore—when we step away from God, the light within us starts to fade. Like a candle without oxygen or a fire without fuel, our spiritual flame weakens when we distance ourselves from the One who sustains us.

Sister, have you ever felt your light dimming? Maybe you’ve been dealing with a health struggle that’s left you feeling weary, and instead of turning to God, you’ve withdrawn, unsure if He’s really listening. Maybe a close friendship has started to fade, and the loneliness has made it hard to feel God’s presence like you once did. Or maybe you’ve been waiting and praying for direction—about a big decision, a relationship or your purpose—but the uncertainty has left you feeling stuck, wondering if God is really guiding you at all.

The good news? God’s light is never out of reach. His presence is the fuel that keeps us burning bright, guiding us through confusion, hurt and uncertainty. If you’re feeling dim, don’t stay there—bring it to Him. Ask Him to rekindle the fire in your heart, to fill you with His truth and to remind you that His love is the eternal flame that never fades.

No matter how dark things feel, His light is always available to you. Let Him shine through you today.
