Scripture
“For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.” Romans 10:10 (NIV)

Our hearts have big jobs to do.

Did you know that most adult hearts pump about 2,000 gallons of blood daily? An average heart is about the size of a fist and beats close to 115,000 times each day. When it comes to organs, it’s no slacker. What else does the heart do? It harbors the pulse—pardon the pun—of our faith.

It’s hard to stifle good news, right? Christ residing in our hearts is something to sing about. That’s why followers share what they know: the message that God is good and His mercy renews weary souls and tired hearts.

Just as God spoke the universe into existence in a flash, we can instantly change lives with our words. Time and again, the Bible is clear that our tongues can be the source of death or life. The meditations of our hearts ruminate in our thoughts and then become the words we say. Today, you have the power to make a big difference in the life of someone by simply telling them they are loved, they are seen and they matter.

Go, and fill someone’s day with love. Speak words that affirm. Tell them of a Savior who provides the most profound joy their heart may ever know.
