Scripture
“…and if you spend yourselves on behalf of the hungry and satisfy the needs of the oppressed, then your light will rise in the darkness, and your night will become like the noonday.” Isaiah 58:10 (NIV)

Sometimes it’s hard to know where to place your faith. Jesus is always trustworthy. The wisest thing we can do is look to Him for the perfect example of living righteously.

It can be hard to live truly holy. We pursue it. We embrace it. Yet, sometimes, we fail miserably at being a shining example of it.

Life is messy and it’s lived by fallible individuals who are broken and in need of mending. The only way to find healing and clean the corners of our hearts is to sanctify ourselves through a relationship with God. The more we shine light on the plights of others, the more we aim to be less like ourselves and more like Jesus. This is where His holiness breaks into our lives. It’s in our darkest times that God’s light can shine brightest, like the noonday.

Go forth today with a loving and forgiving heart. Seek God’s will first, and He will straighten the path before you. Grasp onto patience. The process of sanctification isn’t a one-and-done. It takes a lifetime to commit yourself to encountering Jesus.
