Scripture
“The city does not need the sun or the moon to shine on it, for the glory of God gives it light, and the Lamb is its lamp.” Revelation 21:23 (NIV)

Revelation is quite the book, isn’t it? From visions of dragons to choirs of animals, the author, John, reveals a lot of information. Most of it seems to be through these prophetic stories often widely debated by Christians today. But looking past the challenges of interpreting his writings, we are painted one of the clearest pictures of the “new earth.”

Sister, our world is shrouded in darkness everywhere we look. There is no denying that. But there is still light in this world. Little moments of joy just waiting to be found. But what if the world had no darkness?

In John’s vision of the new earth, there is no need for the sun or moon. The glory of God gives the world light through the Lamb, Jesus Christ. When God’s eternal glory is the world’s source of light, that light pierces everything, leaving no room for darkness to creep in.

Let this fill you with excitement! There will be a day when we no longer struggle through the darkness.
