Scripture
“A father to the fatherless, a defender of widows, is God in his holy dwelling. 6 God sets the lonely in families, he leads out the prisoners with singing; but the rebellious live in a sun-scorched land.” Psalm 68:5-6 (NIV)

Not everyone can picture God as their father. For some, images of their earthly dads are painful. Abuse, abandonment and distorted family pictures can cause lasting hurt so deep that trusting anyone is beyond reality. Someone’s image of what a father should be and their reality do not always align.

God is the Father who loves us unconditionally and will never leave us. He calms middle-of-the-night worries that keep us from slumber. He fights to preserve His family no matter the cost. We know this is true because the payment for our lives was the sacrifice of His one and only son.

No matter what’s happened in the past with your father here on earth, God will never forsake or neglect you. His angels are always at work guarding and protecting His children from harm. Most of all, God always knows what you need even before you do. He sees you and loves you as you are.

You are precious in His sight and loved beyond measure. Let the mighty hand of God clothe you, protect you and hold you close for the rest of your days.
