Where you’ve been, who you are, what you’ve done or what has been done to you is not the entirety of your story. The bondage that grips you, telling you that you’re stuck in your current circumstances forever is not truth. Where you are right this moment—living side-by-side with fear, pride, pain, envy, anger or addiction—can be the beginning of your restoration story.
The pathway to a new way of living is always there for you: it’s never too late. Letting go and surrendering what ails you to God is not weakness. It’s the first step towards something courageous: owning that you can’t make it on your own and need the help of the Savior.
You are not a mess, but your circumstances may be. You are not a mistake, but maybe you’ve made wrong choices. You are not unlovable, but perhaps you’ve been looking for love in all the wrong places. All of that can end at this very moment when you give up the baggage holding you back and accept the mercy of God’s grace.
Your tragedies can become triumphs, and your mess can turn into a message of hope to others that help is on the way.
