As we delve deeper into the book of Job, we come across this poignant verse in Chapter 10 that resonates with our own moments of questioning. Job quite bluntly asks, “Your hands shaped me and made me. Will you now turn and destroy me?”
In this verse, Job expresses profound confusion and a sense of forsakenness. He acknowledges that God has created him, yet he struggles to understand why he is now facing such immense suffering. It’s a question that strikes at the heart of the human experience—the search for meaning in the face of hardship.
Yet, even in anguish and confusion, Job continues engaging with God. His questions are not a sign of unbelief but rather an aspect of his relationship with God–honest, raw and unfiltered. It reminds us that our faith is not about having all the answers but a genuine relationship with God, where we can bring our deepest doubts and questions.
Today, let’s allow ourselves the grace to ask our difficult questions. Let’s remember that it’s okay not to have all the answers and that our questioning can actually be a form of more profound engagement with our faith. God welcomes our questions, and in the midst of them, He offers us comfort and a deeper understanding of His presence in our lives.
